Assassin and [Training Cave in Anbu]
The day after completing the quest, Hyde went to the dungeon specified by the old man.
(Is this the dungeon that the old man was talking about? It was a little hard to find, but it certainly exists.)
The dungeon existed in a hidden form in a place where the cliff was in the shadow. This would be pretty hard to find unless you know where it is. In fact, this dungeon had never been discovered before.
(If Grandpa's words are correct, then there should be something here that can help me... I should have said something meaningful if I was lucky.)
As a final confirmation, Hyde confirmed his own status.

My level has increased significantly since before the first event, and I will soon reach level 34. Every time Hyde reaches 10 status points, he distributes them evenly between STR and AGI, so he hasn't allocated status points for level 32 yet.
And in my inventory, roughly 100 knives for [Throwing]. Since the level and status of the monsters that appeared in the dungeon were completely unknown, I was cautious and bought quite a lot.
(Okay, then let's go in for now)
Hyde makes up his mind and steps into the dungeon. The inside of the cave is dim with no light coming in, and the only light source is the torch leaning against the wall. The ceiling is about 3 meters, and the width is wide enough for three large adults to stand side by side, but there is no obstacle at all. It was a tough place for Hyde.
(There are no monsters at the moment. It's just that I've been feeling really weird since a while ago~. How should I put it, it's more difficult to move my body than usual... hmm? Hard to move?)
When Hyde stopped walking silently, he pulled out his dagger and began to be cautious around him. The fact that Hyde's body is difficult to move is nothing more than the demerit of [Hermit] being activated.
【hermit】
All stats other than HP and MP are reduced by 30% when being looked at by monsters or players.
Increases all stats except HP and MP by 20% while not being seen by monsters or players.
[Hermit] is just being watched, and compared to the situation where he is not being watched, his STR will drop from 144 to 84, and his AGI will drop from 132 to 77. Hyde was the first to activate the [Hermit] demerit, so he didn't immediately notice that he was being watched.
(Concentrate...! I'm already being watched! But where are the monsters? This is a straight road with no cover, and there's nowhere to hide. But the monster's shape and shadow can be seen. No, it's not even caught in [Presence Detection].In that case...!)
Hyde closes his eyes and concentrates more.
(If you can't see anyway, there's no point in keeping your eyes open. Then you should concentrate on feeling the sounds and sensations...!)
"...!"
The next moment, Hyde, feeling a bad premonition, swung his dagger in the direction of his intuition. Then Gakkin! A dagger is flipped with a sound. When Hyde opened his eyes in a hurry, a black weasel-like monster with a sickle in his hand was about to leave.
(Is that the monster that appears in this cave? I see, it's black, so it's hard to see in this dark cave. Also, the monsters here seem to have a fairly high level [Presence Blocking].)
The monsters that appear in this dungeon use [Presence Blocking IX]. If you have [Presence Detection X], you can break through the opponent's [Presence Blocking], but Hyde only has [Presence Detection VI], so unfortunately he can't detect the presence of monsters.
(If it's something like this, I should have trained more [Presence Detection]... but it's a later festival.)
Even after the monsters left, Hyde stopped and kept an eye on the area, but since they didn't seem to attack, he continued through the dungeon.
(My body is still heavy... which means that the monster from earlier is likely still aiming for me. That monster may not be the only one, so let's proceed without letting our guard down.)
As Hyde proceeds silently through the dungeon, monsters appear one after another. In this dungeon, there are dog-like monsters that normally attack from the front, and even when you're fighting dog monsters, the weasels will attack you.
(If you're concentrating on the battle in front of you, you won't notice the weasel that suddenly attacks you. If you're distracted by the weasel, the dog will take advantage of it and attack you. It's a really annoying dungeon. His STR and AGI are fairly high, but his VIT and HP are low, so he can be defeated with two or three cuts, so there's no problem.)
Luckily, there were no traps so far, so Hyde was able to move without worrying about things like the floor. That's one of the reasons why Hyde is able to roam around in this dungeon.
(The weasel doesn't hide itself just because [Presence Detection] doesn't work, so if you look carefully, you can see it. As expected, I can't afford to worry about it during battle, but even faintly. But if you can confirm your appearance, it will be easier than when you don't know at all... Hmm?)
Hyde suddenly stops and begins to stare at a point on the wall.
(... It looks like a normal wall... but I'm curious. There's something over there.)
The wall Hyde sees is no different than any other wall in the dungeon he's walked through. However, Hyde intuitively knew that there was something near the wall.
(I don't have a bad feeling about it, so it shouldn't be some kind of trap... I should check this.)
And based on his experience so far, Hyde never doubts his own intuition. I slowly approached the wall while being cautious of the weasel's surprise attack, and began to examine its surroundings.
(Whether you hit it or push it, it's no different than any other wall. Did my intuition go off...? No, if I start doubting it, it's over. )
The moment Hyde put his hand on a part of the wall and put a little weight on it, the wall turned around and Hyde disappeared to the other side of the wall.
And then the wall spun around for a few seconds, then slowly returned to its original state as if nothing had happened.
◇◇◇
(Well, I was surprised. I never thought that the other side of the hidden door was the real thing.)
In the hidden passage where Hyde entered, a snake monster that hides not only its presence but also its appearance appears in addition to the monsters so far. Furthermore, there were traps here and there in this hidden passage, making it much more difficult than before.
(My intuition works on both snakes and traps, so I didn't take any damage... but I'm tired. I never thought I'd end up using my intuition and concentration to the fullest two days in a row... I'm diving through the dungeon alone, so I'm prepared to some extent. I did, but this was really unexpected... dungeons aren't always like this...)
By the way, the hidden passage of this dungeon is as difficult as [Poison Dragon's Labyrinth], which is said to be ridiculously difficult for a single layer. Unlike [Poisonous Dragon's Labyrinth], there are no monsters that attack with abnormal status, but monsters with high STR and AGI that hide their appearance and signs, and traps that are set irregularly will be gone in no time if you let your guard down. knocked down by
(Also, I finally found out when I entered the dark hidden passageway, but this aura is no good...)
The aura that Hyde thinks of is exactly the pale aura that is overflowing from Hyde's body right now. This aura is due to [Sword Dance] that I got about two weeks ago. I didn't. However, a problem was discovered when an aura appeared in this dark hidden passage. The aura created by this skill shines slightly, making it extremely conspicuous in dark places.
(This skill doesn't suit my style. It's a waste to raise STR, and I don't have time to open and manipulate my status, so it's fine for now, but I'll [Discard] when I leave this dungeon.)
Hyde stares at the aura that comes out of his body and makes a bitter face as he defeats the monsters that attack him one after another and advances through the dungeon. As Hyde went forward, there was a large door at the far end, easily twice as tall as Hyde.
(No matter how you look at it, it's a boss room~. Let's prepare properly!)
When Hyde brings up the status screen, he distributes the status points he gained from reaching level 34 along the way, along with the points he hadn't used yet, to STR and AGI by 5 each.
After checking the inventory to see how many knives were left, I put my hand on the door and applied force while preparing to take it out at any time.
(There's no light inside... yeah, I can't feel any stares right now. My body is moving without any problems, and it's not like I'm being watched. If that's the case, there's no chance of a surprise attack the moment I enter.)
While thinking so, Hyde cautiously entered the room. And after taking a few steps in the room, the door that came in slammed shut.
And at the same time, the nine torches hanging on the wall light up in order. Even with all the torches lit, the room was dim and visibility was pretty poor.
"... I've finally arrived at this place."
(It's dark and I can't see it very well, but a man wearing a kimono and holding a sword... huh? That's the boss.)
"But this is not the end. From now on, the final trial begins. Be careful!"
When the man finishes saying so, an HP bar is placed above his head. Then the man took a step forward, but his foot fell straight to the ground without stepping on the ground.
(……Huh!? Ah! No, I didn’t fall! I still have a shadow left, and I feel like my status is declining due to the disadvantage of [Hermit]! Watching from the shadows!)
Hyde was stunned for a moment, but he quickly regrouped and prepared his weapon. And as if waiting for it, the shadow began to move quickly.
(It's fast! It's not that I can't follow it with my eyes, but it's hard to see shadows in this room because it's so dim!)
The shadow moved erratically around the room, but when he passed by Hyde, a man suddenly jumped out of the shadow and wielded a sword in his hand.
(Oh no!! [Jump]!)
Hyde just barely hits the katana with a dagger, then uses [Jump] to jump backwards and take some distance. The man moved his legs for a moment, perhaps to pursue him, but for some reason he didn't pursue him and just went back into the shadows.
(Does it move in the shadows and come out on the ground only when attacking? Judging from the feeling of playing the sword, the STR is quite high. There are some conditions... Shit!
As Hyde ponders, he strains his eyes so that he never loses sight of the shadow.
(He interrupted his action after trying to pursue him for a moment. In other words, the number of attacks and whether or not he hit the conditions for hiding in the shadows are irrelevant. In that case, the possibility of remaining...)
While paying attention to the shadows that move in all directions, Hyde prepares his dagger so that a man can appear at any time. And after a few seconds, a man jumped out of the shadow that was approaching Hyde again.
(Try it!)
Hyde dodged the approaching sword, and this time he looked at the opponent without taking any distance. The man who had been dodged returned his blade and immediately pursued him.
(As expected! This guy won't hide in the shadows if he doesn't keep his distance!)
Then, Hyde, who repelled the follow-up attack, cuts with a dagger before the opponent attacks again.
"Kuh!"
After receiving a counterattack and reducing his HP bar by about 10%, the man retreated into the shadows again when he took some distance from Hyde.
(It looks like they'll start over if they get attacked. Do you want to do your best not to take damage at this rate?!)
"Huh!"
(Oops!?)
Hyde used a dagger to repel the attack of the man who appeared right beside him, but he kept his distance as he was wary of the stronger impact than before.
(Does your stats increase every time you get attacked? What a troublesome boss! It's hard to see your shadow... huh? Isn't it darker than before?)
Noticing that the shadows were becoming more difficult to see than before, Hyde looked around while being careful not to take his eyes off the shadows.
(1, 2, 3... Oh! One of the torches is gone!)
Eight torches are currently lit. Compared to when the nine lights were on at the beginning, the room was slightly darker.
(The torches go off one by one with each attack, and the boss's stats increase? But why are there nine torches in all? )
Hyde takes out a knife from his inventory and holds it in the opposite hand to the one holding the dagger. And when the man emerged from the shadows, he dodged the attack and threw the knife.
(Remaining HP is about 8.50%. The torches have not been extinguished and there are still eight torches. Even if the man is attacked, if he does not take distance, he will follow up. Even if he is attacked, his status will not change, Okay, let's try again.)
Hyde took out the knife again and threw it at the man in the same way as before.
"Kuh!"
The man whose HP was reduced to 80% after being attacked hides in the shadows when he takes some distance from Hyde. And the lit torches were reduced by one, making a total of seven.
(It's confirmed. Every time that guy's HP is reduced by 10%, the torch hanging on the wall disappears and his status goes up. When the torch disappears, it gets darker, so it becomes harder to see his shadow.)
By the way, I don't have Hyde, so I have no way to check, but I can't use items or skills that turn on lights in this boss room.
(The disadvantage of [Hermit] is still active, so it's going to be a long-term battle...)
Hyde unintentionally sighed and made up his mind.
◇◇◇
“Gufu!
Four hours after the battle began, the man disappeared as particles of light after saying that. A magic circle and a large treasure chest appeared in the center of the room.
"Level up to 36"
『Skill 【Hell Ears】has been acquired』
『Skill【Utsusemi】has been acquired』
After confirming that the man had completely disappeared, Hyde slowly fell onto his back.
Notifications of level up and skill acquisition resounded, but Hyde didn't have time to confirm it now.
(T-I'm tired... I don't feel like doing anything... Why do I have to be so tired two days in a row...)
In short, I was exhausted from the road up to this point and the current boss battle. After yesterday's quest, my head was a little dull, but this time I'm so exhausted that I can't stand up.
(…………Is it okay if I check my skills and distribute my status points tomorrow……Let’s log out today)
Hyde slowly got up and started to move back to town, when he finally noticed a treasure chest in the middle of the room.
(... Huh? Was there a treasure chest in that place? Clear reward or something?)
Hyde approaches the treasure chest while dazed from fatigue and opens the lid. Inside was a hood and jacket, a pair of underwear and tabi all in one, and a sword a little longer than a short sword. Everything from the top to the bottom of the clothes, from the scabbard to the handle of the sword, is pitch black.

Hyde murmured his thoughts on the equipment in his mind, changed his equipment and transferred to the magic circle. The destination was the entrance of the town.
(... Good thing. I don't have to go back to town. Let's check the equipment tomorrow together with the status. I want to sleep already.)
Hyde let out a sigh of relief and entered the town, then logged out.
It is a stable time when the main character does not speak at all. Or rather, the only time Hyde spoke was in episode 3, "Assassin and Skill Acquisition". That said, I won't force you to speak.
Original dungeon [Training Cave in Anbu]
Dungeon hidden passage entry conditions: After clearing [Trial in Anbu], a flag will be raised if you ask the NPC to tell you the location. The dungeon itself is hard to find, but can be entered without flags.
A monster that uses [Presence Blocking] appears. There are many surprise attacks, and if you are surprised, the damage will be doubled. As an overall monster characteristic, AGI and STR are moderately high, but VIT is low.
On the normal route, the final point of the dungeon is the boss of the monsters on the way (however, the hidden passage is a true dungeon, so you can't get the unique series even if you clear it alone). If you clear it, you will get the skill [Sound Collection].
If you enter a hidden passage without any hints, not only [Presence Blocking], but also monsters that use the skill to hide their appearance will appear, and traps will also appear. However, if you go to a place where you can see the normal boss door, the flag will disappear and you will not be able to enter the hidden passage (if the person who entered the hidden passage is in the party, you can always enter the hidden passage).
Hidden Passage Boss
Characteristics One torch disappears every time the boss's HP is reduced by 10%.
Goes into the shadows, revealing itself only when attacking. When you're in the shadow, only the shadow moves, so it's easy to see when there's light, but when it's dark, you can't tell.
AGI is high and STR is reasonably high, but on the other hand, VIT and HP are not so high for a boss. However, the boss's HP can only be reduced by 10% of the maximum overall HP with one attack, and if it is reduced by 10%, it will disappear into the shadows. In other words, you can't defeat the boss unless you hit it at least ten times. Items and skills that turn on lights cannot be used in the boss field.
If you can defeat the boss of the hidden passage in the first dungeon invasion, you will get the skill [Hell Ears].
[Sound collection]
Even small sounds can be heard well.
Details of [Jigokumimi] will be next time. Hyde will go to the second layer next time.
